Edwin Nutting studied painting, drawing, and metal sculpture at the San Francisco Academy of Art, San Francisco Institute of Art, and Grossmont College. Nutting spent 30 years primarily teaching and working in elevator mechanics. During this time, Nutting refined his style of working with mediums such as acrylic, ink drawings, and water media. In addition, Nutting’s work had been published in Rolling Stone Magazine and exhibited in several local Art Walks and juried exhibitions, most notably at the San Diego Art Institute.
“The aesthetic I strive for, is one in which abstraction – supported by manmade forms- invites viewer interpretation and participation.” – Nutting
