Sparks Gallery: What inspired you to become an artist?
Caveney: Comic books, de Vinci...
Sparks: How did you decide on your signature style?
Caveney: I like chance, that takes place in painting.
Sparks: As a painter, sculptor, and performance artist, what creative outlet challenges you the most?
Caveney: Depends what I'm currently into; now it's painting and also working on rock n roll videos...
Sparks: How long have you painted comic book heroes? Why are they so meaningful?
Caveney: I've read comic books since I was 10 yrs old. Now I don't read them, but do enjoy the current comic movies. I think they are silly because of them taking themselves so seriously. I enjoy deflating them.
Sparks: What artists/artworks made a lasting impact on your work?
Caveney: Basquiat, Bacon, Pollock, Bueys.

Caveney: Make art and understand business.
Sparks: Did you have a mentor?
Caveney: Kevin Hogan.

Caveney: I like to get to know them personally, invite them to the studio for cocktails.

Caveney: I buy obscure vinyls...

Caveney: Reruns of Heull Houzer.
