Irina Ventresca

Irina is an artist based in San Diego, where she live with her husband and two daughters. When she is not painting, she loves hiking, being by the ocean, and enjoying a good chocolate croissant. She always been drawn to texture, nostalgia, and the quiet beauty in ordinary moments — all of which deeply influence her work. Her approach to painting is abstract, intuitive, and personal — a way for her to express emotions and thoughts that often go beyond words. I find endless inspiration in the natural world: the way no two sunsets are ever the same, the rhythm of the tides, the colors and textures found in earth and sky. These elements are the foundation of her artistic style. She start each piece on a wooden panel, layering acrylic paint with limestone powder and earth pigment dust. She treat texture as a language of its own — just as meaningful as color — because of how it invites us to feel. Irina then build depth through layers of coffee or tea, watercolor, acrylics, salt, and pastels. She rarely have a fixed image in mind; instead, she work from a feeling, letting the materials guide the story as it unfolds. What Irina love most is the moment everything is still wet and moving — when she is simply there to help guide the process, but the paint seems to have its own voice. Sharing her work and talking to others about the messages behind each piece has become such a powerful way for her to connect and be heard. Through her art, she hope to encourage others to slow down and be present — to notice the imperfect, quiet beauty that surrounds us every day.
