Hinaekian is an internationally recognized, well established artist whose work consists of oils and mixed media on canvas and on paper, collages, monotypes and etchings. Her signed limited-edition etchings of a mythical character were distributed worldwide by English, French and Italian editors. She then embraced abstract art and produced a great number of paintings. She has also created abstract ceramic wall hangings. She had a career as a fashion designer in Boston and Manhattan before pursuing art as a profession. She has exhibited extensively all over the world both in galleries and in art fairs. She is a multi-faceted artist and her worldwide travels have influenced her work especially the orange/red hues of the Sahara and New Mexican deserts and the turquoise blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the oceans. She has a fascination with creative imagery and is mostly a color field artist; the nostalgic character of her work is best described as atmospheric, poetic and quiet. She tries to breathe movement into her “abstract landscapes” to guide the viewer into the paintings, making him wander into a different reality. Her paintings have been described as Blue Reveries and Red Desert Scapes.
“Best in Painting” award at the La Jolla Art and Wine Festival in 2013.
