Rhonda Anderson is a San Diego artist working in both drawing and painting, especially colored pencils, water-media, and mixed media. Through color expressionism, she explores universal concepts with the hope of communicating the beauty and fragility of the world. It’s the intangible and ephemeral nature of both the physical and spiritual that Anderson aims to express with her subject matter. Presently, she is investigating a part of her cultural heritage through “nihonga”, a Japanese style of painting. It is her intention to be expressive stylistically with both color and composition so that the viewer finds it compelling, beautiful, and filled with wonder (and maybe a bit of magic too).
