Sandra Chanis is a native of Panama. Received her B.A. from Western College for Women, Ohio and her M.A. from University of Dallas, Texas. She resides with her soul-mate and partner, John Cadman, in Carlsbad, CA.

Chanis is an artist and a businesswoman. Besides receiving awards and exhibiting in museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and abroad, she is a former tenured professor of art in University of Panama’s Architecture Dept. as well as a former MFA Artist teacher in University of Vermont, Montpelier.

As a businesswoman, Chanis has been an Administrator of several businesses, the most recent role as Interim Executive Director of Oceanside Museum of Art. Chanis is a stout advocate of the arts and sculpts in stone and high fire clay returning recently to her past and love which she taught, watercolors and acrylics.
