Artist Statement: This is one of a series of small objects that use the vocabulary of furniture forms as a sculptural basis for an unexpected function. Emile Jacques Ruhlmann was a Deco Furniture designer who invented the “torpedo leg”. A previous piece of mine used the torpedo leg to house a small drawer. This smaller version is called E.J. Mini. The test tube holds water to support a cut flower bud.
