Description

San Diego is known for its rugged coastline and beautiful beaches. One of Barnes’ favorite locations is where the cost curves around so abruptly that you can actually shoot back at the cliffs and see the waves roll in from behind.  This rarely seen angle is rich with opportunity that plays with one’s mind and imagination. Barnes often challenges himself to shoot something he never has before to reach new heights in creativity.  The red in “Reflecting Red” is actually the late afternoon sun hitting the cliffs behind the waves then reflecting off of the waves coming in back into Barnes’ lens.  You just don’t see anything like this from any other angle than the one that this hidden coastal gem provides. Capturing the flowing water at just the right speed makes the wave look almost like an abstract painting.
