“’Stag’ was created during my years as a fine arts major.  Our instructors were all professional artists of the highest caliber and enormously influential. They introduced us to the Bauhaus style and stressed the importance of mastering two-dimensional design through challenging projects.

After a sketching trip to the Bronx Zoo, our instructor challenged us to create a stylized version of the animals we had drawn.  I cloned the original tempera painting, years later, as its design and original form held up nicely over time.  The piece on exhibit is one of the last prints available.” – Simon
