Lisa Sprietsma is an oil painter based in Benson, Arizona, whose work explores the intersections of Southwestern landscapes and the still life. She creates large-scale, realistic still lifes that often feature string and branches that balance fruit, teacups, hourglasses and more, to represent our real-life challenges. This work reflects the balance I strive for in life. There are internal, emotional struggles and world choices facing all of us. The choices are staggering. Where lies the balance between loneliness and solitude? Loss and connection? Responsibility for our Earth and each other?
