2. Mount Laguna

Nestled on the edge of Cleveland National Forest, Mount Laguna is another excellent location to consider for your engagement photos.

Mount Laguna sits at about 6,000 feet above sea level, and its location offers a scenic view of pine tree-filled forests, lakes, and meadows. There are also a few quaint little towns up in the mountains that make a picturesque photo backdrop.

While many people head to the sun-soaked beaches for their San Diego engagement photos, Mount Laguna offers a nice alternative to the traditional settings.

3. Balboa Park

If you might prefer an urban background for your engagement photos, Balboa Park is the place to go

While Balboa Park can certainly be touristy and busy, this cultural park offers a variety of backdrops that will make your engagement photos all the more stunning. Plus, the park is huge, so it won’t be hard to find a location to shoot your engagement photos in private.

Balboa Park features over 1,200 acres of gardens, nature trails, and classic Spanish architecture. The park offers so much diversity, you’ll have no problem finding unique backgrounds for your photo shoot.

For an especially beautiful photo shoot location, we recommend heading to the Botanical Building in the park. This building features a wide array of floral and fauna, as well as a reflective pool. There’s no doubt that you’ll cherish the photos you take in this park for years to come.

Plus, Balboa Park is such a cultural staple of San Diego. For those who feel like San Diego is truly their home, Balboa Park is the perfect location for their engagement photos.

4. Torrey Pines State Beach

If you’re looking to take classic San Diego engagement photos, then head to Torrey Pines State Beach. Situated between La Jolla and Del Mar, this beach is a surfer’s paradise.

Not only does the beach offer breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, but it also gives you views of sandstone cliffs, native pine trees, and wildflower trails. If you head to the surfing side of the beach, you’ll find fewer crowds, so you should be able to shoot your engagement photos without any obstructions. Plus, you can park for free on Highway 101.
