Artist Statement: Featuring a prickly pear cactus in bloom, a leopard shark swims by creating a dialogue between a land being and a creature of the sea. My work aims to be a reminder of the shared connection between all living beings on earth- specifically in ways often misunderstood. For example, the life cycle of a plant on land is connected to the life cycle of a whale in the ocean whether we can see that connection or not. From the land to the sea, we are all connected.
