Stefanie Bales is a contemporary fine artist and educator who spends her time between the city of San Diego and the beaches of Santa Barbara. Her soft, colorful palettes are inspired by these landscapes and visual cultures, and the cerebral qualities evident in her work are the result of her education in both Studio Art and Psychology. Her time studying art therapy and working with students with neuropsychological disorders incidentally inspired her to begin exploring the visual representation of human consciousness, evident in her most recent bodies of work.
Stefanie’s work can be found in numerous private collections across the country and internationally, and has been published prolifically. Most recently, she has been featured on the TLC network, in San Diego Women’s magazine, Southern California Homes, Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, Art Ltd, Pacific San Diego Magazine, the Santa Barbara Sentinel, Creative Quarterly Magazine, The Union-Tribune and UT-TV, and KUSI’s Good Morning San Diego. Stefanie has been teaching Art and Design classes at Platt College for nearly a decade, and is a long-time resident of Little Italy, San Diego where she resides with her husband and 2-year-old son.
