Jo Palasi is a self-taught fine art photographer based in San Diego. She captures quiet moments in nature and her surroundings with focus on detail, movement, light, and color. Her images are often serene and elegant. Palasi explores the natural world in both landscapes and macros. She finds beauty in the animal kingdom, as well as insects and plant life.
“My first camera was a Kodak 110. Actually it was my father’s, but I probably used it the most in our family. More comfortable behind the camera than in front, I rarely travel without my camera gear, the tools of my art. Mostly self-taught, photography is my escape into a world where light and shadows catch my attention. I love the little click that the shutter on my camera makes. It tells me I have a single moment frozen in time. They say time is fleeting, but I am always in pursuit, spending countless hours to capture just one moment- one perfect moment.” –Palasi
