Description
A mosaic cube with double heads on top, “Intertwined Lives” is a four-sided piece with faces on both sides and with smaller heads as hair. It rests on a mosaic base covered with hand-made tiles.
It represents the generations of storytellers in our families and in our communities, who have created a group history. The Thesaurus tells us that the meaning of intimacy is “The condition of being friends: chumminess, closeness, companionship, comradeship, familiarity, fellowship, friendship.”
As Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his book of poems, Daemonic, and Celestial Love, says:
And his wish is intimacy,
A more intimate intimacy,
And a stricter privacy;
The impossible shall yet be done,
And, being two, shall still be one.
As the wave breaks to foam on shelves,
Then runs into a wave again,
So lovers melt their sundered selves,
Yet melted would be twain.
